Olympiacos GM on Fournier's message, Vezenkov's pressure, and winning it all

2025-05-02

I've seen a few EuroLeague playoff victory celebrations. Some teams toss their coach into a jacuzzi. Some take the party to an ice hockey rink – and thankfully avoid getting injured during the night out before the Final Four. Others just start pouring drinks right on the court after the fans leave.

The tiny Olympiacos Piraeus locker room at Madrid's Movistar Arena was buzzing late Thursday night. The media crowded into the small room, making it feel even tighter and more packed. Players laughed and hugged each other. Naz Mitrou-Long grabbed a huge camera to capture memories for the digital scrapbook. Donuts were passed around – a little Final Four sweetness to match the moment.

Olympiacos Piraeus punched their ticket to a fourth consecutive EuroLeague Final Four, after a dramatic 86-84 win over Real Madrid in Game 4 of the playoff series. The Reds fought back in the second half and sealed the victory after Alberto Abalde missed a potential game-winner at the buzzer.

Olympiacos Piraeus staged an early 11-0 fourth-quarter run in Game 4, achieved a tough 86-84 victory, won the series against Real Madrid 3-1, and punched the ticket to the 2025 EuroLeague Final Four in Abu Dhabi. "Everybody thinks that it was the least that we could accomplish, but it's not like that. It's a big time accomplishment for the team," coach Georgios Bartzokas said post-game.
Dzanan Musa before Game 4: 'If I were an Olympiacos player, I would be scared'

2025-05-01

Real Madrid is on a mission to achieve something only they’ve done in modern EuroLeague history: coming back from a 2-0 deficit in the playoffs. Following an 80-72 win in Game 3 against Olympiacos Piraeus, Real Madrid is full of hope and belief that they can bring the series back to Greece for a decisive Game 5.
