Joan Penarroya future in Barcelona revealed after early ACB exit

FC Barcelona was eliminated in the ACB League quarterfinals on Sunday night, losing their series to Unicaja Malaga 2–1. The loss caps off a season in which the club also fell in the Copa del Rey quarterfinals and missed out on the EuroLeague Final Four in Abu Dhabi. Despite this, team legend and general manager Juan Carlos Navarro expressed his full support for head coach Joan Penarroya.

Unicaja Malaga became the final team to punch their ticket to the Spanish ACB League semifinals, pulling off a stunning overtime comeback to defeat FC Barcelona 97–95. Trailing by nine points (73–82) with just two minutes left in regulation, Unicaja launched an electrifying 11–2 run, led by Tyson Perez and Kendrick Perry, to force overtime.
