After spending the entire 2022-23 season without a team, Isaiah Thomas is returning to basketball.

According to Shams Charania from The Athletic, Thomas is set to join the Utah Jazz affiliate team in the G League, Salt Lake City Stars.

35-year-old Thomas last played during the 2021-22 NBA season when he represented three different teams - LA Lakers, Dallas Mavericks, and Charlotte Hornets - for a total of 22 games, averaging 8.4 points, 1.3 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game.

The two-time All-Star played three games in the G League that season as well, averaging a whopping 41.3 points per game alongside 3.7 rebounds and 6.7 assists.

Thomas is best known for his years with the Boston Celtics when he pushed the team during the playoffs. Thomas averaged 28.9 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 5.9 assists during the 2016-17 season. This performance earned him an All-NBA Second Team honors, and he was 5th in MVP voting.
