Nedovic said his body couldn't take the extra toll anymore.
Nemanja Nedovic has represented the Serbian national team for almost a decade. The player is now calling it quits.
After the last Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade's ABA League game against Mega MIS Belgrade, Nedovic revealed he will not be returning to the national team anymore.
"I finished [my career] with the national team last summer during the preparations for the World Cup. My body could no longer withstand the extra effort because I need more and more time to regenerate. Years don't decrease, they only increase, just like the club seasons are getting longer, you can't wait to have a vacation," Nedovic told SportKlub Srbija.
"If you dedicate part of that period to the national team, there comes a point when you can't do it anymore. And I also had a daughter, Talia, then. I practically became 'split in half', I couldn't take it anymore," the guard explained. "The younger ones are coming."
Nedovic played for Serbia in EuroBasket 2013, EuroBasket 2015, 2016 Rio Olympic Games, 2019 FIBA World Cup Qualifiers, and EuroBasket 2022.
