Pablo Laso signed a 3-year deal with Baskonia that will last until the end of the 2026-27 season.
After unexpectedly leaving FC Bayern Munich, Pablo Laso returns to Spain.
Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz officially announced that the club agreed to a 3-year contract with Laso. The deal will be valid until the end of the 2026-27 season.
According to Bayern's statement, Laso left the club due to family reasons.
In his only season with Bayern, Laso won the German league title.
However, Bayern failed to impress in the EuroLeague, finishing the regular season with a record of just 13 wins and 21 losses.
Laso played for Baskonia from 1984 to 1995. With the club, he won the Copa del Rey and was named the tournament's MVP in 1995.
Before joining Bayern, Laso was the head coach of Real Madrid since 2011. During his long tenure in the Spanish capital, he won the EuroLeague title twice in 2015 and 2018, and guided the squad to six Spanish league trophies, six Spanish Cups, and six Spanish Super Cups.
