The Canadian national team faced tough opposition from Australia but ultimately came out on, winning the matchup 93-83 (26-28, 19-21, 27-21, 21-13). Canada's second victory handed them the way to the 2024 Paris Olympic Games playoffs.

RJ Barrett led Canada in scoring with 23 points on 8-for-13 shooting, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 steals for game-leading 28 EFF. After having a dominant opening game three days ago, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander finished the match with 16 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 steals.

Australia was led by Josh Giddey, who scored 19 points, grabbed 7 rebounds, and dished out 6 assists for 20 PIR. Jock Landale registered a double-double of 14 points and 12 rebounds for 25 EFF.

Patty Mills, meanwhile, had a very inefficient game, scoring 8 points on just 2-for-10 shooting and 4 turnovers.

The game was neck-and-neck in the first three quarters, with neither of the teams managing to gain a more substantial lead.

However, with the score at 74-72, Canada went on a 9-0 run, establishing a solid 10-point lead in the middle of the 4th quarter (83-72). The double-digit deficit was too much for Australia, and Canada celebrated the victory.

Australia will now face Giannis Antetokounmpo-led Greece for a chance to play in the Olympic playoffs. A loss against Greece could send Australia home.

Meanwhile, Canada's opponent in the playoffs is unclear, as a separate draw will be held after the group stage to determine the matchups.
