Denzel Valentine is staying in Italy, moving from EA7 Emporio Armani Milan to Pallacanestro Trieste.
Denzel Valentine, the 30-year-old former NBA guard, is staying in Italy after a brief stint with EA7 Emporio Armani Milan, but he's changing teams. Valentine has agreed to join Pallacanestro Trieste for the upcoming season.
While with Milan, Valentine played in four games, averaging 3.8 points and 0.8 assists per game. He wasn't able to compete in the EuroLeague because the registration window had already closed.
Before his time in Italy, Valentine spent last season in Australia with the Sydney Kings, where he averaged 12.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 3.9 assists in the NBL.
Valentine, the 14th pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, played 256 games in the NBA, where he recorded 7.0 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game. His last NBA season was in 2021-22, when he played for the Cleveland Cavaliers and Utah Jazz.
In the 2022-23 season, he suited up for the Maine Celtics in the G League, posting averages of 14.4 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 5.6 assists in 33.7 minutes per game, while shooting 38.8% from three-point range.
Trieste, meanwhile, earned promotion to Italy's top league by winning the second division.
