The Boston Celtics are exploring trade options for Jrue Holiday to trim their payroll, with three Western Conference teams—the Clippers, Kings, and Mavericks—emerging as top contenders.
The Boston Celtics are expected to be active this offseason as they look to avoid steep luxury tax penalties. They're reportedly open to moving nearly everyone on the roster—except Jayson Tatum.
One of the biggest names on the trade market is Jrue Holiday, a two-time NBA champion and two-time All-Star. Despite being 34 years old, Holiday has drawn strong interest from around the league.
NBA analyst Jake Weinbach reports that three Western Conference teams—the Los Angeles Clippers, Sacramento Kings, and Dallas Mavericks—are leading the race to acquire him.
"The Clippers, Kings, and Mavericks should be regarded as the top landing spots for Jrue Holiday this offseason," Weinbach wrote.
"There's growing belief that the two-time NBA champion will be moved by the start of next season, with Boston determined to reduce its payroll," he added.

Holiday has three years and $104.4 million remaining on his contract.
This past season, he battled through minor injuries and averaged 11.1 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game.
