Daniele Baiesi, the former sporting director of FC Bayern Munich, has officially become Milan's new sporting director, taking over from Gianmaria Vacirca.

The news was first reported by La Repubblica Milano and later confirmed by Corriere della Sera, which states that Baiesi has signed a one-year contract with an option to extend for another season.

In his new role, Baiesi will oversee scouting and player negotiations.

He brings a strong track record, having spent seven years at Bayern, where he helped the team win back-to-back German BBL titles in 2017–18 and 2018–19.

Under his guidance, Bayern also reached the EuroLeague playoffs in 2020–21 and 2021–22.

Baiesi most recently worked as a consultant for the Brooklyn Nets.

Before his time in Munich, he held roles at Brose Bamberg and served as a talent scout for the Detroit Pistons.
